Kicking off 2014

Thanks to everyone who came out to our Hamilton and Toronto shows – helping us kick off 2014!

Last night, over 400 people braved the adverse weather conditions to groove with us at The Horseshoe Tavern. We were excited to join forces with Julian Taylor Band and The Heavyweights Brass Band for an unforgettable night of jazz, soul and deep funk!

The Soul Motivators set to get KNEE DEEP with BERNIE WORRELL!

Yes indeed, The Soul Motivators are more excited than we’ve ever been before – we’re opening for the mighty Bernie Worrell when his tour rolls through Toronto.

He’s the legendary keyboard player for Parliament-Funkadelic, the synth-master for Talking Heads and the originator of countless hip-hop samples.

Join us on September 28th when we’ll be tearing the roof off Adelaide Hall and getting P-funked up!

Starting this week: FUNK SPECTRUM

We’re headlining 3 Thursday night shows as part of Funk Spectrum – a collaboration between The Soul Motivators and Dirt on the Floor Productions showcasing the very best of Toronto’s Funk, Soul, Afro, Nu-Jazz, House and Hip-Hop scenes.

Expect some incredible special guests, a few surprises and the finest deep funk. It all goes down from this Thursday (September 19th) at Supermarket (268 Augusta Avenue in Kensington Market)
